Copiapoa cinerea is a very variable species and it is native to the Chañaral and Antofagasta regions of northern Chile.
Copiapoa cinerea is a globular to columnar cacti.
It can reach 4 feet high and 8 inches across.
One of the most popular of the Copiapoas, when mature it produces a beautiful blue/grey coating and wooly crown.
Unfortunately it is also slow growing and this can take 15 years.
It will eventually produces offsets from the ribs and these offsets can then be used for propagation.
