Ensete Ventricosum Maurelii Banana Plants

Ensete Ventricosum Maurelii plants are from East Africa, where they tolerate frost at high altitude. Ensete Ventricosum Maurelii are very fast growing and they produce huge leaves which are green with spashes of red. The midrib is a deep red in colour. The plant grows between 6 and 12 m high.

Protect from frost in winter. Water well in summer. It requires warmth, lots of water and fertile soil to grow to its full potential. A useful feature of this plant is the apparent lack of pests and diseases when grown outdoors. If it gets too big, cut it back at the base and it regrows.
